First haircut

We finally gave Dayson his first haircut. It wasn't terribly long, but starting to look a bit scraggly. Here's a before and after picture.

He wasn't thrilled to have his picture taken.

Video

Here's a small video of the kids playing the 'keep your sock on' game that they like to do. This is mainly for the grandparents since I know they like to see more than just pictures once in a while. I need to get better at taking more video's of the kids as they grow. They change so fast in such a short amount of time.

14 Months

I'm a few days behind, but it's better late than never. Dayson, you are 14 months old! You have been SO busy this past month. From the time you get up in the morning until you drop for a nap or for bedtime, you are constant movement. No need for a gym here! If you need some exercise during the day, just give us a call and we'll lend you Dayson ☺. Here are some of the things that you like or have been up to this past month.

Food: You still love food. I have yet to really find anything that you don't like. This month you have tried items in the pepper family, such as red and green peppers, along with some mild salsa and you loved them! You can still out eat Iyana and I. Most of the time you have breakfast twice. That normally includes eggs and cheese plus a bowl of hot cereal (2 servings worth) mixed with fruit or yogurt. Along with that, you normally like a piece of toast with butter or a bagel. Your most recent favorite is cereal bars. We didn't have any for several weeks and when you found them in the pantry, you aggressively signed please several times in a row and ran to your high chair where you proceeded to pound on the chair with your hands until I put you in it. After being seated, you kept giving me the excited giggles while signing please until you finally had your bar in front of you. That is most definitely a favorite for you to give us that kind of reaction.

Sleep: Your sleep is progressively getting better. We have our good nights and bad ones. As of right now, you're kind of in the schedule of getting up any time between 12-2AM every other night. Last night you set another sleeping record...almost 11 hours!! This is so exciting! I'm slowly but surely starting to sleep better myself. Normally if you have slept through the night, I'm awake by 4AM. That's so much better than what the past year has been.

Activities: What can I say about activities other than you are so busy and wanting to do everything. Climbing right now is the number one thing that you love. Just in the past week you have figured out how to climb onto the kitchen chairs and now the living room papazon. I like to watch you to see how your little mind works. You've figured out that if you just push or pick up the step stool, you have a big height advantage. Yes, we really have to watch you around the oven now, especially since you can reach the burners while on the step stool.

Helping: As you can see from the picture above, you are such a helper! I love to see your excitement when you get to help us out. Emptying the dishwasher is so much fun for you. It does keep us on our toes trying to keep up with you since you like to grab several items at once, especially the glass dishes. The other big thing is helping with the laundry. Yes, a lot of times we end up finding our clothes in the middle of the kitchen. For some reason, you think that is where they go. I won't mention the certain under clothing items that seem to end up else where...you can make your own guess as to what happens with those ☺. And the other thing would be with putting groceries away. That's pretty simple until you come across something that you know is for you, then you sit and start asking for it.

Injuries: As the previous post stated, you've had quite the month with injuries. So far this month you've had a black eye, an almost broken nose, several unexplained bumps and bruises, and the latest...not just a fat lip, but your tooth went through your lip (see bottom lip in above picture). I know the saying of "he's a boy!", but really!?! Can you give your mama a small break for a little while? At least when you got your split lip this morning, we were already at the hospital visiting some family. Fortunately, it wasn't serious and therefore no need for stiches. The next thing I'll say is it would probably be best to watch where you are going instead of flirting with the little girls.

It's not the best of pictures. I was quickly trying to catch his wink that he was giving me. Love it!
