Dayson, you now weigh 29 1/4 pounds and are 32 1/4 inches long (I was off a couple of months ago). Your height is in the 28th percentile and weight is the 93rd percentile. My short, sturdy kid. The doctor was very happy with your overall growth so that's a good thing. You wear a size 24month/2T for clothing. I actually just bought you a 3T shirt the other day from the consignment store thinking it would be great for summer. When I tried it on you, it fit perfectly...Aren't you only supposed to be in 18 month clothing?
As you can see with the above picture, we've been having fun coming up with different sayings to go along with your expressions. You have so many of them. Lately, more of your personality has been coming out in both tender and aggressive ways. In the tenderness department, you love to have me kiss you on your cheek while we're saying our nightly prayers. You also have been loving playing with my hair by gently pushing it out of my eyes or running your hands through it. Your aggressive ways are the endless hitting that we're constantly working on, especially when it comes to your sister. The other day when we were at a play center, you actually hit another child and pushed a girl in the face. Now granted, she wouldn't stop telling you what to do or get out of your face, but still, we gotta work on not hitting those around you.
This picture cracks me up. It's almost as if you are saying, "Seriously mom? Another picture?" And speaking of saying things, we are finally starting to hear more talking that's getting close to actual words. You are probably going to be like your sister where it takes a long time for other people to understand what you are saying, but at least we are slowly getting there. It's great hearing your little voice communicate with us but also kind of sad. It's just the next step away from being a baby. You are growing so fast!
This month we will be taking you in to see an Orthopaedic specialist. For those who are around you frequently, they can testify to the fact that it looks like you've been riding a horse all your life. It hasn't affected you in getting around, but you do fall a lot and because of the bow leggedness (I know, not a word but it works for this purpose), your ankles tend to give out easily. There's still a good chance that the specialist will look at you and say to give it more time. If not, then we're probably looking at getting braces for your legs for a short time. Not looking forward to that since I know you will probably protest really loudly. If it can help though, we want to give it a try.
In the meantime, as usual Dayson, you are growing way too fast for me. I've loved seeing all the different changes that you have gone through and seeing how your little mind works. Yes at times, you drive me crazy because you just have no stop button. Always full of energy. I know some day that it will come to your advantage and I just have to remind myself of that and learn how to work with it. I love you sweet boy! You are such a blessing!!
