7 Months

I'm slowly catching up on my posts. Before I know it, this little one is going to be 8 months old. Had to try and get this done before I start working on the other one.

Why do I have the feeling she's going to be my sassy one?

Dayson's sneak attack.

Look mama, I just ate some grass!

My little water baby, she was so happy and content to play here trying to eat the rocks.

And not just rocks, but anything else that was around.

She would have loved to swim in it if she could.

Same wheelbarrow at our pastor's cabin. Dayson and Samara were close to the same age in these pictures.

Same outfit with all three. Dayson and Iyana were the same age here. The only way Samara could wear this was by taking the picture when she was about a month younger than the other two.

Just a quick hi for the camera.

Sisters

More water fun.

That's cold daddy!

Wish this dress would still fit her on Valentine's Day. She looks so cute in it!

3 Years Old

Guess who turned 3! Can't believe this little guy, or fine young man as we're starting to say, is now 3 years old. It's gone by super fast. Could it be because he's always on the move and never slows down? Here's some highlights and of course, pictures. ☺

I have yet to find a stop button for this little guy. From the time he gets up in the morning until his naptime (assuming he doesn't skip it) and from then until bedtime, he's go, go, go. I know that someday this will be to his advantage and hopefully he'll be able to find a job that works well with his energy. It at least keeps me on my toes. His curiosity is endless. I love seeing how his mind works.

We did a very small, birthday party for him with just us (plus Samara and Iyana) and Grammy Sheba (Kara) present. Instead of doing cupcakes or cake (he doesn't need the extra sugar), we decided to try angel food cake. He didn't seem to mind. He actually only ate the strawberries and whipped cream and left the angel food cake.

This apparently is how you are supposed to eat your cake.

We decided to get one large present for him this year instead of a bunch of small things. He loves playing on Iyana's razor scooter and he loves the movie Cars. When we saw this three-wheeled scooter at the store, we knew that was the perfect gift for him. He's in love with it. Anytime he goes out to ride, he has to make sure that he puts his Lightning McQueen car inside the little pouch. He has yet to ride without him.

Not sure what's up with the tongue, but he does this frequently.

After our little party, we celebrated more over at the splash park. Last year he wasn't really into getting wet but that has all changed this year. He actually sat down in the water and let it spray him, that's a huge step for him. No more running away from sprinklers or spraying water.

Now that he's talking more, it's been fun to hear what all he comes up with. Some recent things that we've heard from him.

* Aww, you bit me! (have no idea why he says this, it always comes out at random times)
* Uh oh, it broke (anytime his underwear is inside out)
* Daddy toot, Dayson (poor BJ always gets the blame whenever Dayson passes gas)
* Oh, I get it. (he really doesn't but he still likes to say it)
* Privacy! (this comes out at random times too, mainly it's directed at Iyana)
* Sorry! I sorry! (if you've startled him or if I get in the car to start it and he's not buckled in yet)
* At the deacon's day away recently, Mrs. Cook asked the kids if they had any worship songs they wanted to sing, Dayson's immediate response was "PBS kids!" Not exactly a worship song.
* While potty training, we were giving him 2 gummy bears as a reward. He was always trying to figure out more ways to get them. Here's one of those conversations.
Mom: Dayson, I'll play Mario Cart after I feed Samara.
Dayson: Mario Cart?
Mom: yes
Dayson: Mario Cart Wii woohoo 2 gummy bears?
Mom: no gummy bears. (glad I was paying attention to what he was saying)
*O-bey God (walking around in a circle reciting that, no idea why)
* Sorry, sorry, gotta go potty! (as he runs to the bathroom)
* Good grief! (another thing that happens at random times)
*Oh my goodness! (whenever something has happened)

I know this is a little late, but Dayson, you are such a joy to us. Never is there a dull moment when you are around. I hope you have had a splendid birthday and that this year brings many new blessings to you. Love you!!

Our Summer in Phone Pictures - Part 2

More pictures from this summer. There's lots here, so be prepared. ☺

Little toes are always a good snack.

This summer, everyone except BJ got hit with the stomach bug. Poor Iyana got it the worst.

Found this dragon fly outside my chiropractor's office. He had a broken wing.

First time feeding her baby sister.

Such a cutie.

First time having watermelon. She really only sucked on it.

Popsicles with a good friend.

Here, let me try eating your shirt. Oh look, you have an ear too!

Summer bike rides.

In an effort to save a little energy and make use of our hot summer days, I made a clothes line out of bungee cords to air dry Samara's diapers.

Got this for Samara and she loves it.

Wondered how long it would be before we found him in it.

Celebrating a potty training success with a banana.

Gimme that finger...

Looks like she got more food on her face than in her mouth.

Lord, get me outta here!

Playing with her hair...beautiful!

More hot summer days spent inside to stay cool.

Teaching Samara her letters.

Yum...

Playing in their "blanket fort".

Camping out in the living room watching movies.

Dayson was pretending to be a horse.

Just waking up from a quick nap.

Wouldn't be summer without having a cold treat.

Reading time.

Driving again...

After a long day driving, it's time to play.

Finally out of the car and relaxing.

Helping Grammy water the garden.

Getting a drink.

Relaxing by the "pool".

She enjoyed taking apart anything that her siblings put together.

Waiting in the car being silly.

Her really does love the dogs.

Rock climbing.

Good morning!

Road trip!

Picture for daddy.

Visiting the American Girl store.

While we were in the American Girl store, Dayson got to play in the kiddie area at the mall with Grammy.

So happy.

Love crossing these bridges. Almost back to papa and grammy's house.

After working hard and saving her money, this is the dress that she picked out for her doll Saige.

Lots of wagon rides.

Playing with puzzles together.

Could she get any messier?

Scooter riding.

Cousins taking a break from all the playing.

I still have lots more pictures from the month of August that I will eventually post. Stay tuned!
