Iyana's Thinking

Here is a conversation I had with Iyana at lunch today.

Iyana: Mommy, how come you and Daddy always finish your food before me.

Mommy: Because you don't stop talking.

Iyana: I don't talk a lot. I eat too.

Mommy: (just looks at her with a skeptical look)

Iyana: No, I think it's because you have a big mouth.

Mommy: (After about spitting my water out) hmmmmmm......(and looks at her again while she smiles)

Don't you just love how kids process things in their minds?

Week 15

Baby B. is about 4 inches from crown to rump (the size of a lemon) and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. He/she can now grimace, squint, frown and possibly sucks his/her thumb.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 15 weeks

Total Weight Gain: About 2.5 pounds gained.

Almost back up to my prepregnancy weight after losing a few pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Starting to wear more. Can still fit into some of my regular clothes.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing the heart beat and hearing Baby B. kicking at the doppler.

Gender: It's a surprise!!

Name: You'll have to wait and find out!

Movement: Very slight and only on occasion.

Food Craving: Nothing serious yet but lately I've been wanting cinnamon gummy bears.

Sleep: Sleep has been hard to come by.

Symptoms: Still dealing with some morning sickness. Caught a cold last weekend and am still dealing with that as well.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Having more energy and feeling good!

Midwife appointment..

Had my appointment yesterday with the midwife. All is going well other than I'm a little dehydrated. Iyana and I got to listen to the heartbeat which was so much fun. She has never heard that before and so thought it was a little weird. Baby B was not impressed with being pushed on by the doppler and gave it a few kicks while we were listening. Funny sound.
In some ways I'm still in shock that there is actually a new life growing inside of me. I was a little nervous going to the appointment wondering once again (even though I've seen the picture and heard the proof) if this was all in my imagination. It's just so unreal at times. Life is going on as normal (other than the morning/all day sickness) and yet, my body is working overtime to help nourish and form this little one inside of me. I've felt a few small kicks, but they're so slight that it's hard to really tell. Maybe once I really start feeling them, it'll become more real. Praise God though for this miracle! I can't help but be thankful!

Fresh Air

My dear Iyana had a bundle of giggles and energy today so I thought it would be best to send her outside. As she ran around, I thought this would be a great time to take some photo's since I have been lacking in that area lately. She had a lot of fun and actually didn't mind getting her picture taken this time.....can you tell?

Into blog land I go..

Never thought I'd be one to start blogging, but since we found out about the arrival of Baby B, I thought this may be a better way of keeping in touch with everyone, or at least keeping everyone up to date. It will also allow me a better outlet for posting my pictures, which in the near future I plan on doing a lot more of. I may not post a lot or often, I'm not much into writing, but who knows, maybe this will inspire me to become more creative in that field.
