Saw this on another blog and thought it might be fun. It will at least get me writing a little more verses just posting pictures. I think I'll start my 30 days tomorrow. If you wanted to join in, here are the 30 Days:

Beautiful

Iyana has been a bit camera shy lately. Don't know if it's because she's getting older or because she's wanting to take more pictures of her own, but she finally allowed me today to get a couple of shots for the grandparents.

Funny Faces

Let the faces begin! Dayson is starting solids this week. We've tried holding off but he just keeps wanting more and more and I feel like we're always nursing. So, we've started with banana's. We'll do the rice cereal next but for now, we want to see how he'll do with this. He really likes it but makes a lot of faces. I was able to quickly capture a few of them. In between these, he did have some smiles.

Comparison

Haven't done one of these for a while. Was looking through Iyana's baby pictures and came across one that is similar to one of Dayson's. I like putting them side by side and seeing the similarities and also the differences. There's no denying that they are brother and sister.

More toes and sitting

Had to take a picture of Dayson doing his new favorite thing. He loves sucking on his toes, especially the ones on his left foot. I can't change his diaper anymore without having to pull his toes from his mouth. It's pretty cute, though I don't like him doing it right after he's eaten. He's still quite a good spitter. Looking forward to the day when I don't have a dozen burp rags strategically placed around the apartment for quick access.

He's also working on sitting up more and more. Took some pictures today of him doing just that. Had to put a pillow behind him against the wall since he can't sit still for anything and hasn't realized that he's not the most stable of babies yet. Good thing it was there though, he thought it would be fun to throw himself backwards. It was a nice soft landing for him and a big relief for me knowing it was there.

 

Busy busy

After saying that we would probably never get one and even turning down some offers from friends, we went ahead and got Dayson an activity center. This one isn't as big as some of them but gives him a lot of playing options. He's gotten to the point to where he doesn't like sitting stationary and wants to always be on the move. Most of the time that means he wants to be carried around so he can see everything. This at least allows him to do some things on his own and allows me to get stuff done around here.

Got Feet?

Dayson has recently found his feet. Grabbing them is his new favorite thing to do during the day (putting them in his mouth too when he manages it). He gets upset if I have an outfit on him that covers his feet but is happy as a clam once it's off. Wonder what the next favorite thing is going to be? ☺

Forgot

I forgot to include Dayson's 4 month picture when doing his latest post. Here it is with all his cuteness! (and drool)

I love his expression in this shot. It's almost like he's saying, "am I really this old!!"

4 Months

I'm a couple days late getting this done, but I've been waiting until Dayson's doctors appointment which was today. Everything is going very well and he's growing and developing right on track, if not a little ahead of himself. He now weighs 12lbs. 5oz. and is 25 inches long. He's slowed down a little in the weight department but continues to be in the upper percentile for height.

I wish I could slow time down as it seems to just keep going by faster and faster. Every day it seems like he's trying to master a new skill or doing something different. Dayson still really doesn't like tummy time and will push himself over shortly after we put him down. Then of course, once he's rolled over, he tries to roll back over onto his tummy (doesn't make sense since he didn't want to be there in the first place). (*Update since I posted this. Dayson has officially rolled from back to tummy now. Look out world, he's become mobile!) He's trying really hard to sit up by himself now. He can do it pretty well until he starts wiggling around and then he falls over and most of the time that's face first. He's also figured out how to use his hands and grabs for everything now. He was quite proud of himself when he quickly got my glasses off.

Dayson loves to talk. I think I may have mentioned this in a previous post, but once he first started talking, he decided that he needed to practice at night. That meant he got up around 2:30AM and talked for the next couple of hours. Love hearing him jabber, but just not at that time of night.

His sleeping schedule has gone backwards again. I sure do miss the nights when he would sleep four hours in a row. We're back to every two to maybe three hours again. And of course last night it was zero hours. The reason for this we have found is that he has decided that it's time to get some teeth. They haven't broke through yet (and I'm sure it's going to be a while), but he's gnawing on everything in sight and he makes miniature lakes (with drool of course) where ever he sits. His poor fingers are becoming calloused because he chews on them so much (not to mention my fingers too). I've decided that this child thinks that sleep is optional. He definitely doesn't go by any of the baby books that say they should be sleeping 12+ hours in a day.

Had fun doing a mini photo shoot with him and his sister. They sure do love each other. I'm waiting for the day though once he becomes mobile to see how the relationship grows. I'm sure we'll start seeing a little of the sister/brother rivalry. He's already grabbing for what ever is in her hands. Wait until that first time he gets into her room without her knowing....ya, I can see how that's going to go. First she'll probably notice half her things covered in drool while the other half is making it's way into his mouth. Fun times I tell ya ☺.

10 Years

My dearest Bennie,

How time has flown. Ten years honey! Doesn't it seem like just yesterday we were standing before our family and friends saying our vows to each other? These last tens years have been some of the best years of my life. I'm so blessed by all that God has given me and beyond blessed in you being my husband. Through all of our ups and downs, my love for you has deepened and it grows everyday. I cannot imagine what life would be like without you in it to share with me. I pray that God grants us many more wonderful years together.
