Our Summer in Phone Pictures - Part 1

Life has been pretty busy this summer. I haven't gotten my Nikon out as much as I would like but I have been taking a lot of pictures with my phone. Makes me glad I have it for more than just talking on. Here's a recap of some of the things we've been up to lately.

She didn't get any, but she was totally fascinated with the can.

When I took the picture of Dayson that's on the right, I totally saw BJ so I had to do a comparison picture.

He was supposed to help me put the groceries away, instead I found him playing and building towers.

Iyana and I had the opportunity to work with Mrs. LaMarque and make some pottery.

We've done lots of this so far. Getting a little tired of driving. Wish we could put wings on the car to get where we're going faster.

Iyana got to spend a couple of weeks with her Grandpa Lucky and work on the farm.

Of course all the toys have to come out to find the one he was looking for.

He decided that she needed her diaper changed and so tried to take care of it himself. It ended up being more of a giggle session than a diaper changing one.

Tired but happy. She had a wonderful time with her Papa but was glad to be coming home.

I still have lots more pictures to share but that'll have to wait for part 2. Since summer is only half over, I'll probably even have a part 3 ☺.

5 Months

How time has flown! Little Miss is now 5 months old. Here's some of the latest of what she's up to.

 

Samara survived the icky stomach flu that was going around, and she did it with a smile. I don't know if she was more immune to it because I'm nursing her or what, but she only got sick once and for that, I'm thankful.

She can now sit in the tripod pose for a few seconds before toppling over. She's enjoying being able to sit up more to play with toys. She doesn't enjoy falling forward onto her nose. We're still working on that.

She had her first taste of banana's. At first she wasn't too sure what we had given her. Eventually she really started liking it. Now, she can't wait for us to bring them out and always finishes her bowl.

Chomping on the spoon for a bit after eating, feels good on the gums.

So cute!

 

Decided to do another comparison picture of my three. For the longest time I was thinking that Samara looked more like Iyana but now I'm thinking she has more similarities to Dayson. Of course, they all have their own unique look, it's just fun to see similarities.

Shortly after this pic, she push herself up and over the Boppy. She's trying to crawl, just can't figure out how to get her arms to move.

Brother love. They have really started to bond lately.

4 Months

 

This little Miss turned 4 months old on the 1st. Here's a small update on what's going on in her life.

 

It has been such a joy and blessing getting to see Samara's personality blossom. I'm loving this stage. Wish I could just stop time for awhile to soak it all in. She's such a happy and content baby.

Another thing Samara has been trying to do is scoot forward. Poor little one gets her face rubbed raw, but she's so determined to be moving. I was thinking that she might take her time and just be a baby for awhile but she's already showing some of the same signs that Iyana and Dayson did that she wants to be up and moving. I put her on tummy time yesterday and walked out of the room. I noticed that she was watching me while I left. When I came back a couple minutes later, she had scooted several inches forward, almost like she was trying to figure out how to follow me. Going to have to start watching what gets left on the floor.

 

She's going to be our blanky baby. Any time she goes to sleep, she wants to be holding a blanket along with sucking on her pointer finger. It doesn't matter what kind of blanket either. Sometimes it'll be her dress if she's wearing one. Right now since I don't want her having a full size blanket (she tends to cover her face), she has a very small, soft burp rag. Until she's a little older, this works out great.

This was actually a teething blanket. Not her favorite but it's what was close.

Looking forward to the next month to see what new things Samara learns. Love this little gal!



Family Visits

A few weeks ago we got to take a trip to the Twin Falls area and visit family. It was Samara's first time on a longer drive (she did great) and also her first time meeting the rest of BJ's family. His grandparent's were actually in town the day she was born, but because of being sick, they decided it would be best to wait to see her.

Great Papa Bennie with Samara. This is so special to me. Love the fact that he is still able to hold his great grandbabies even though Parkinson's disease has ravaged his body. He loves his little ones so much! 

Great Grammy Mickie. Samara initiated her right after this by spitting up on her. Fortunately, Grammy has a good sense of humor and was delighted.

Got some good playing in with the second cousins.
